The Ministry of Possibilities

Three years after the creation of a Ministry of Happiness, one of Tolerance and a third of AI in the UAE, the Ministry of Possibilities was recently created.

The brand-new ministry has been the subject of much discussion at the local and Arab levels.

That is natural, given that the UAE has been a source of innovation and positive debate both regionally and globally. The results of this culture w ill therefore not be traditional.

The Ministry of Possibilities is a non-traditional virtual ministry without a minister. It is overseen by working groups of ministers. They carry specific files to eliminate the word “impossible” from the vocabulary of the UAE people. Such an ambitious goal requires innovative and ambitious initiatives.

That is why this unique project was born. The role of the ministry will include restructuring government systems, community practices and proactive thinking. Its objective is to deal with national issues such as proactive service management, reward management, talent and competency management and government procurement system management.

HHS Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, explained that “Our present-day reality in the UAE is the product of non-traditional ideas from non-traditional leaders.” “Our ambitions for the future are not traditional (…) we need non-traditional systems to achieve them.” As he said, “the impossible is not in our vocabulary… or in our mindset… and will not be in our future.”

Such is the philosophy behind the launch of this initiative, plain and simple. The new department is necessary to meet the challenges of the future. The platform embodies a new perspective on solutions and alternatives, both in terms of the nature of the solutions, their implementation methods and the timing of their implementation. It will define a new generation of government practices.

The project is the result of the interaction of the UAE with global creative thinking as showcased at the Dubai government’s annual summit.

Taking on the impossible has been part of the history and development process of the UAE, be it at the founding stage by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, be it at the empowerment stage under the leadership of HHS Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Who would have thought that a place in the middle of the desert would be able to host some of the world’s most beautiful and developed cities? Who would have thought that the UAE, which did not have a single university when the state was created, would become home to a host of local and international universities?

The miracle of progress proved the UAE can achieve the impossible. Drawing on what has been achieved in the past, the quest for innovative solutions and alternatives to current and future problems already seems to be a challenge within reach.

The late founder Sheikh Zayed taught the UAE people to embrace a spirit of challenge. Dealing with challenges is an everyday matter in their work, studies and daily lives.

The UAE, where team spirit is a common focus in every institution, is working tirelessly to achieve the highest levels of global competitiveness in keeping with a clear strategic vision starting with UAE 2021 up to UAE 2071. By its 100th anniversary, the UAE is expected to accomplish its goals before the specified time.

Behind the success is a leadership that is dedicated to the well-being, comfort and happiness of its people while looking to place the UAE among the world’s most advanced countries. The country is already moving to the top according to several competitive indices.

People in our region perceive the UAE as a land of dreams and a country that always thinks outside the box.

The Ministry of Tolerance has become one of the main actors in the efforts to disseminate this precious human value at the regional and global levels. The Ministry of Happiness has institutionalized the norms of happiness and worked to make the happiness of citizens and residents rooted in daily practices in various institutions and sectors. The new ministry came as a new hallmark of the UAE’s leading edge in the region.

It is not a luxury, only those who have been bitten by the green-eyed monster fail to see.
