Houthis’ violations in Al Hudaydah

The Saudi-led Arab coalition has long reiterated its desire to have a political settlement to end the Yemeni crisis. Political resolutions have a set of ways and mechanisms. The Houthi group should not keep what it took through a coup against the legitimate State. In order to launch a political process, the Arab coalition will ask the group to withdraw from the territories it occupied before the war. This political settlement should take place in accordance with three references: the Gulf Co-operation Council initiative, the outcomes of the Yemeni National Dialogue Conference and UN’s resolutions, especially resolution number 2216. Otherwise, it would be a waste of time, effort and an underestimation of the sacrifices of the Yemeni people and the efforts of the Arab coalition to restore peace to Yemen.
The coalition countries firmly believe that a political resolution is the appropriate solution to get Yemen out of the crisis. But this solution must respect the international will. The UN Security Council’s members demanded the Houthis to leave the territories they have occupied since 2014.
For a long time, the Houthi group’s procrastination has led to repeated failures to solve the Yemeni file. Implementing an Iranian agenda, the Houthis used to obey Tehran’s dictates. The group has long violated resolutions agreed upon. This would be the fate of any potential political resolution over Al Hudaydah unless the Houthi group opts for reason and prioritizes the interests of the Yemeni people. The Houthis should translate on the ground the claims made by their fake media outlets.
The Houthis are staying in Al Hudaydah in response to the demands of the mullahs’ regime. Tehran wants to take control of the strategic joints in Yemen. This would guarantee their plan in the country. But all the indicators highlight a coming failure of this conspiratory plan.
The Houthi group knows that ending its control over Al Hudaydah will be similar to ending control of Sana’a, Yemen’s capital. Taking back the city from the group will reveal the lies and delusions that have circulated among its followers over the last three years.
The Arab coalition in Al Hudaydah aimed primarily at resolving the crisis. It prompted the Houthis to respond to the international efforts to reach a political settlement. At the same time, the planning was ready and accurate in order to spare the people in the city any suffering that could result from the conflict. The coalition countries planned to protect civilians and preserve the infrastructure of the city and the port. Humanitarian aids have also been set as a priority.
The Yemeni crisis, especially in Al Hudaydah, unveiled the role of the sectarian militias in spreading chaos and destabilizing the country. Some regional powers, such as Iran, bet on sectarian agents to implement its plans in several Arab countries. Careless of the people, these agents carry out the Tehran’s dictates. International reports highlighted violations made by the Houthis in the city. They used civilians as human shields, recruited children, seized humanitarian aids and violently put pressure through non-human means. The group went far to recruit militia fighters by threatening them to death.
The coalition countries will end the crisis in Al Hudaydah and will free Sana’a and the rest of the Yemeni territory. The international community must learn several lessons from this crisis. There is a need to end the Iranian plans in the region. Tehran’s expansionist plan is the reason behind the state of instability and chaos in the Middle East. To restore regional stability, Iranian interventions must be eradicated.
The international community is asking the Iranian mullahs to respect the law and international covenants. Tehran should abide by the obligations and responsibilities it has adopted under international laws. Iran must respect the principle of good neighborliness and the sovereignty of other States.
Critics of the Arab coalition countries’ role in Yemen should review their perception of how the country has become a battlefield for the IRGC and its militias. Tehran recruited militia fighters from various countries on sectarian bases. Yemen has been turned into an arena for civil war and terrorist organizations. The Saudi-led Arab coalition has saved Yemen from the hands of Iranian-Houthis. The Yemeni people and the courageous heroes of the coalition have made great sacrifices to save Yemen’s historical, cultural and civilization components. Tehran has been behind the plan that was taking place at the hands of the Houthis.
