What Saudi Crown Prince Egypt, UK and US Tour Tells Us

Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince, Mohammad bin Salman, is on a strategically significant visit with stops in Cairo, London and New York.

Mohammad bin Salman’s first trip abroad is important because of its timing and the countries the Crown Prince will stop in. The tour comes right after the SA vision 2030 and the recent crackdown against corruption and many other issues that had long intrigued the Saudi leadership. The trip is a step to reorganize relationships with major regional and international powers.

Saudi Crown Prince’s visit to Egypt was quite different from that of former Saudi leaders. The visit included meetings and reflected the new Saudi vision about the world, civilization, culture and development. It has shed light on SA leadership’s policy for the future. The trip has redefined relations between the two States based on mutual interests. Meetings have ensured strengthening ties between the two sides as a need to prevent slipping into traps, traps aimed at igniting tensions among the Arab States.

The Neom project reflects the deep cooperation between Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Jordan to serve the interests of people in the region. Not to say, the shared aspects of language and history are crucial pillars to strengthen and speed up joint action. Cairo and Riyadh are working to turn the shared aspects into fuel for development.

El-Sisi and the Crown Prince agreed on continuing working together to counter regional interventions and attempts to sow division and rifts among the region’s countries. President el-Sisi stressed that the security of the Gulf countries is integral to Egypt’s national security and that any threats against them will be effectively countered. El-Sisi’s words contained a sharp message to the expansionist sectarian policyholders: do not seek to implement your dreams at the cost of the people in the region.

The strong bilateral cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Egypt will contribute to reaching political settlements regarding many Arab dossiers, especially in Syria, Yemen and Libya. Joint efforts are seen as crucial to face terrorism and the States sponsoring it. The two sides agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation across all fields so as to contribute to enhancing Arab and Islamic unity and joint action in the face of the current threats to the Arab Nation.

The Saudi Crown Prince’s visit to the UK and the US will have strategic importance. Historically, both the UK and the US were strategic partners of the GCC countries, especially Saudi Arabia. Discussions between the Saudi Crown Prince and the leaders of the two States will bring about important agreements.

The Crown Prince’s visit reflects the wise vision of the Saudi leadership, a vision that seeks development given the current challenges in the country. The steps of His Highness are capable of making a radical change in the cultural and ideological trends in the region. The KSA is the most influential player in the Arab and Islamic world.
