Yemen: To Believe in the Right Cause

The shameful terrorist act carried out by Daesh against the Arab coalition forces for the support of constitutional legitimacy in Yemen, taking the lives of four Emiratis, confirms that the UAE leadership’s decision to participate in military operations in Yemen was the right one from a strategical perspective. The decision came out of awareness of the seriousness of the situation in this country.
The emergence of Daesh in Yemen shows that terrorist organizations should not be allowed to infiltrate the country of Yemen, the backbone of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. The country cannot be left alone under the simple pretext of geographical distance or avoiding human and financial sacrifices for the battle to defend honor, legitimacy and land.
The barbarian organization is trying to reproduce in Yemen what it did in Syria and Iraq. The possibilities those Daesh and other terrorist organization expand along Yemeni and Arab territories cannot go unnoticed.
It is not right to subdivide terrorist groups into categories of ‘moderate’ or ‘not of imminent threat’ in order of priority. Al Qaeda and branches like the Nusra Front are like sides of the same coin. They have a common goal, so they should be treated with equal attention as they present themselves, on the Internet and the media, as having different ideological backgrounds, just to align in the face of a common enemy at a certain point in time.
Daesh expanded in Afghanistan, but it is now carrying terrorist acts in Yemen. The Arab coalition military must intensify strikes against all terrorist organizations in Yemen, particularly the Houthis, the militias of Saleh, al-Qaeda and Daesh, because if they remain there the security and stability of the GCC would suffer the repercussions.
To maintain a secure and stable homeland, human sacrifices by the UAE and the GCC in Yemen had to be made. Brave Emirati and GCC soldiers are fighting in the battlefields of honor, defending the nation and the civilization against the enemies of humanity and civil societies. Strangely enough, some voices in the international community are accusing the Arab coalition of committing crimes against humanity in Yemen. These organizations are, however, no closer to the people of Yemen than us in the GCC countries. They know nothing of the ties between us and our brothers in Yemen that is not a neighbor as it is an integral part of the demographic and tribal structure of the Gulf States. The people of Yemen are who we care most about, they are our people and we shall make valuable sacrifices for them to live in peace.
The Arab Coalition in Yemen is on a historic mission to confront a Houthis/Saleh militias/al-Qaida/Daesh alliance of evil and other terror groups bringing chaos to Yemen. Our soldiers and troops are not fighting against a conventional enemy, they are facing despicable organizations that resort to plots, conspiracies and intrigues. Only brave soldiers can eradicate them and chase all the evil actors from the land of Yemen.
The battle to free Yemen from the clutches of terrorism is history in the making. The international community should be well aware of the merit of the Arab coalition initiative to counter the Houthi rebellion, without which the situation would have changed for the worse. Human sacrifices made in this battle are honor and humanity in effigy. They are symbols of the security, stability and the gains of Arab nations that we are protecting from regional and international machinations.
What proves that the cause of the Arab coalition was just is that the Houthis are retreating as military strikes continue and al-Houthi said, in his recent letter to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, he will abide by the rules of international legitimacy and commitment to Security Council resolutions in regards to the crisis of Yemen. This confirms that the Arab coalition is fighting the right battle for justice and the blood of the martyrs will not be lost in vain. The brave soldiers of the Emirates, its people and its leadership, have contributed in writing a new history for Yemen.
Critical situations are resolved by a decisive leadership that is observant and not easily intimidated. In this historical moment, the leaders of Emirates, with the unconditional support of the Emirati people, have proved, once again, their ability to resolve relevant issues and take courageous decisions.
