Iran’s Disaster in Syria

Many people may know what Iran did, and is still doing, in Iraq, and there is a lot to be said at this level. But I mean specifically what regards changing the demographic engineering of this ancient Arab country. After liberating any city or province in Iraq from the hands of the terrorist organization “Daesh”, cleansing campaigns of a sectarian character followed, led by generals of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, and carried out by the popular mobilization forces, which everyone knows their identity and their heinous sectarian composition, as well as the fact of their being a malicious arm of the implementation of the Iranian conspiracy in Iraq.

What is new in the Iranian sectarian expansion at the regional level is what is happening in Syria now. The generals of the Revolutionary Guards, led by Gen. Qassem Soleimani are repeating colonialist plans to redefine the demographic engineering in the Syrian cities.  What is strange is that despite the malignant and ugly Iranian role, the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad celebrates the liberation of the cities and does not look at what is happening around him, he is even not interested in it at all. The one who sacrificed more than half of his people, and left it prey to homelessness and political asylum so that his regime lives, will certainly not care about repositioning a few millions of these people!!

Arabs and the whole world are watching how Iran is actually redividing Syria and preparing the ground for this division, which is in accordance with an ugly sectarian conspiratorial planning. Recently, generals of the Revolutionary Guards negotiated with a terrorist organization on the future of the city of Zabadani west of Damascus, which is under the control of this organization. Iranian leaders offered to empty the city of its Sunni Muslims population and to replace them with others, through the transfer of the population of two Shi’ite villages to this city!!

Redesigning the demographic engineering in Syria reproduces the Iraqi scenario, in order to implement one of the most dangerous goals of Iran’s intervention in Syria. Commenting on that, a Lebanese official said: “the Iranians do not want any presence of Sunnis between Damascus and the Lebanese border. There is a clear plan to change the ethnic composition of the population along the border.”

Iran is not only redistributing Syria’s population while Arabs and the whole world are watching, but is also implementing an integrated strategy to manipulate the historic identity of Syria, and to do so, it is relying on several axes, including the transfer of Iraqi Shiites to live in Syria. Indeed, reliable reports indicate methodical mass displacements of thousands of Iraqi Shiites to certain cities in Syria. Among these axes too is implementing a policy similar to Israel’s settlement policy in its very beginning, through the purchase of land and real estate and the support of Iraqi Shiite displacement to this land and real estate, to secure stationing points and the spread and increased density of a sectarian population in later stages.

Demographically transforming the balance of power, and manipulating the demographic engineering of Arab countries is a conspiratorial plan carried out by Iran in Iraq, and now it is going on in full swing in Syria, and everyone is watching and following without the slightest comment.

Arab countries reject the Israeli settlement, and the manipulation of the demographic engineering of the occupied Palestinian territories. What Iran is doing in Syria’s must gain the same interest. Even the Arab brothers who support the Syrian regime’s position, must also pay attention to the seriousness of what Iran is doing in Syria. The matter is more serious than the fate of Assad or another one, and what the generals of the Revolutionary Guards are doing will not bring Syria to what it used to be, and will not make it return to the Arab ranks as some think, but we will be in the face of a totally pro-Iranian regime that is a strong supporter of Iran’s interests and a subordinate to its agenda, whether Assad stayed or left.

Iran understands that Syria would no longer be a unified state as it used to be, and it is arranging for a division that is actually in the preparation stage. It is preparing through the creation of Shiite cantons that represent centers for a Shiite statelet that will probably join its counterpart in Iraq geographically so that they shall be one country. Or maybe one country will remain from the Syrian inheritance. It all depends on the nature of the understandings between the major powers, particularly the United States and Russia, as well as how the “cake” of strategic interests in this ancient Arab country will be divided.

If Iran is preparing for such scenarios, and is creating a new reality in the Syrian map, and is taking advantage of the war against terrorist organizations, and is strongly intervening in order to implement its long term strategic agenda in Syria, Iraq, Yemen and other Arab countries, is there hope for a collective Arab stance, even if at the level of rejection and condemnation of the practices of Iran in this country?

I think there is also a need to globally expose Iran’s sectarian practices in Syria. The mullahs are conjuring up the memory of old colonialism, and act in the way of such a colonialism, while the world is standing idly by, and then everyone complains of refugees and illegal immigrants!!
