Speech of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques: Saudi Arabia is Determined

The enemies of Saudi Arabia thought that the crisis of the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi and the following media campaigns and attempts to pressure the Kingdom would trigger the decline of the Saudi role or shift Riyadh’s positions on vital security issues such as the Iranian threat.

But the speech of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia, in the presence of the Crown Prince Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz, in the opening of the third year of the seventh session of the Saudi Shura Council signaled a that Saudi policy has not changed, nor has its leadership role in the issues of the Arab and Islamic nation.

In the Yemeni crisis, the Saudi monarch stressed that standing by Yemen was not an option, but a duty towards its people to confront the aggression of the Iranian-backed coup militias, pointing to the Kingdom’s support for the efforts of the UN envoy to reach a political settlement in accordance with the relevant international resolutions and the Gulf initiative.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques also expressed his determination in the face of the Iranian threat. He renewed the accusation of the Iranian regime to intervene in the internal affairs of other countries and to sponsor terrorism and to create chaos and devastation in many countries in the region. He stressed that the time has come for chaos and devastation to stop. The international community must put an end to Iran’s nuclear program and stop Iran’s activities that are a danger to security and stability.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques also reiterated the kingdom’s firm position on the Palestinian issue, stressing that it was the top issue of the kingdom “and will remain until our Palestinian brothers achieve all their legitimate rights, foremost of which is the establishment of an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.” The message was clearly a response to the pro-Qatar and terror groups media that questions the Kingdom’s position on the Palestinian issue.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques said that Saudi women are “a partner with full rights in accordance with our tolerant Islamic law and we will continue our efforts to strengthen their participation in the auspicious national development” and that the young men and women of the Kingdom are “the pillars of achievement and the hope in the future.”

The speech also focused on a very important point: the Saudi leadership’s adherence to the Islamic way and the application of the law of God. “This country will never deviate from the application of the law of Allah, without discrimination or obstruction.”The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continues the development of the State institutions to ensure the safe enforcement of regulations and avoid any errors.“

The speech of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques reaffirmed the constants of the kingdom, frustrating the plans of the plotters against it who expected a Saudi retreat. Their plots will not undermine the determination of the kingdom to achieve its goals and strategies, which explains the call for international action against Iran, an issue of exceptional priority in the Royal speech.

In short, influential countries do not easily fall captive to plots aimed at diverting their focus away from major goals. The speech of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Shura Council was a strong and clear message to the whole world that Saudi Arabia is strong in the face of plots.
