Al-Baghdadi & the ‘Saying of the Slander’

Al-Baghdadi calls on Muslims everywhere to take up arms, and we want the world around us to believe that Islam is a religion of tolerance and moderation, and that Muslims are people of peace?

The prospects about the death the leader of Daesh in a coalition attacks against Daesh in Iraq sparked controversy. in an recent audio record, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi called on Muslims again to migrate to the ‘land of the caliphate’, the geographical areas controlled by the organization in Syria and Iraq.

The call is not the first of its kind made by al-Baghdadi, but it had serious implications reflecting how ignorant and foolish are these folks are who claim to speak for Islam.

Al-Baghdadi’s call on Muslim immigration falsifies facts. he says that ‘Islam has never been a religion of peace, but one of fight, and the war we are fighting is not the war of the organization of the Islamic State, but a war of all Muslims led by the Islamic State,” referring to it as ‘a war of Muslims against the infidels.’

Baghdadi, who told you Islam is no religion of peace? It got you to think the Islamic faith calls for violent conflict? Hundreds, if not thousands of evidences from Islamic jurisprudence suggest you are wrong and you deserve a trial on charges of insulting Islam. Regardless, I will use your words to remind scholars and clerics, and all those concerned with the just religion that faces the worst attack in its history to distort and link it to terrorism, killing, destabilization and rejection of peace.

If some ignorant from the West has uttered something like this, thousands would have rallied in the streets of the Arab and Islamic capitals, and newspapers and media articles would rush to condemn his allegations and analyze their impact on world security and stability. But when al-Baghdadi says it, it grabs no attention and moves no cleric and scholar, because they are busy side battling and talking about secondary issues on uninformative profit-seeking TV shows.

The Islamic religion is not a religion of peace but a religion of killing and slaughter, proclaimed Al-Baghdadi from pulpits of Mesopotamia, a cradle of civilization and culture. Calling on Muslims from every country to migrate to his state, he said ‘there is no reason for any Muslim not to immigrate to the land of the caliphate, or to join the fighters, as it is the duty of every Muslim,’ adding, ‘we invite you to either join us or take up arms and fight wherever you are.’

Al-Baghdadi calls on Muslims everywhere to take up arms, and we want the world around us to believe that Islam is a religion of tolerance and moderation, and that Muslims are people of peace? It would be extremely dangerous to remain silent vis-a-vis the claims of al-Baghdadi, for his words will be echoed and reproduced on the Internet and the media to malign Islam using so-called Muslims.

Al-Baghdadi adds fuel to the fire of global strife and wants to ignite enormous conflicts, and some are glad his is doing so. Among those are proponents of theories of civilizations clash, promoters of apocalyptic ideas. Advocates of the wars from the Shiites and the Jews and many believers in an imminent end of the world.

We have been calling for constructing a civilized, coherent and convincing religious discourse that can counter the Daesh rhetoric and other terrorism/extremism groups, but enthusiasm abates shortly after making resonant speeches and preachings on tolerance and moderation.

what is dangerous in this recession is that it not only leaves a vacuum space for the Daesh speech extremist to spread, but it also makes it difficult to uproot these extremist ideas after they were consumed by young people and adolescents, who admire media promotion by Daesh, especially in second and third generations of Muslims immigrants in Western societies.

Daesh bets on the power of the media, actually the most powerful tool has, to outperform the conventional media, using advanced technologies to promote itself. If we remain sitting on the fence, the image of Islamic religion as well as the destiny of future generations would be jeopardized by such disinformation.
