The UAE Prepares for the Future

As a researcher who follows the news in various countries, especially at the developmental level, I can say with confidence that the UAE thinks of the future with incomparable seriousness.
The future for the UAE is a major challenge that must be won. The issue here is not slogans, but continuous work, intensive efforts and careful strategic planning based on past experience and present conditions and setting the future goals in two visions: UAE 2021 and UAE Centennial 2071.
Implementation is the topic of the annual meetings of the UAE government between His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander Of the Armed Forces, the Crown Princes, the Council of Ministers, the Executive Councils of the State and the 400 most prominent government officials in various development sectors.
These two days of intensive meetings are aimed at discussing the efforts and programs that have been accomplished under UAE 2021 and review the objectives of the next three years in addition to the development of plans and strategies of UAE 2071.
Over two days and through 30 councils, the leaders and officials will discuss what has been done and what is expected to happen over the next three years, as well as the launch of 5 long-term strategies and 120 national initiatives in more than 30 federal and local sectors. They also review the global geopolitical scene and discuss national objectives for the next three years 2018-2021.
The UAE school project, which aims to unify educational systems in the UAE, is a major step in the history of national education. Our leadership firmly believes that the national philosophy of “the unified house” (al bayt mitwahid) should encompass all sectors of planning, work and production in the UAE.
What is all that about? The ambitious and comprehensive development process requires not only the empowerment of the people of the UAE but also of the Union State. Tremendous achievements have been made in terms of empowering women, the youth and various constituents of the society. In terms of empowering the Union State a lot has been achieved, but we still need to work on a unified educational system in order to go global and strengthen the competitiveness of the State on this level. Education is the gateway to our future, said His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, the leader who cares for education and believes that science and good planning are inherent to success and achievement, and who dreams that soon we will be exporting the last barrel of oil.
Every present effort made in the country is future-oriented. The UAE leadership has developed plans and strategies to deal with future challenges, and continues to follow closely the execution of these plans and strategies.
The annual meetings of the UAE government are not just federal meetings to take necessary nation-level decisions and policies, but also the best translation of the team work spirit. The goal of the meetings is that everyone in the country benefits from the fruits of development and designing the road map towards the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
The comprehensive follow-up of all sectors at the same time is also a very important policy. “Development is a comprehensive and integrated concept and no sector can thrive without the other,” said His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who leads the government of the future efficiently.
Work to guarantee the happiness of the citizens is at the core of the philosophy of these unprecedented national meetings, as His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan also stated. The UAE is making its future, seeking to promote its revolution and the happiness of the people.
