Marzouki and the Seat of Religious Guidance!!

Marzouki can be judged only through his deeds. The man who spent his whole life calling for the need to separate religion from politics, surrendered at the first opportunity to an alliance with the Muslim Brotherhood in order to sit on the throne of the Tunisian Presidency.
It did not occur to anyone that former Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki would sit on a religious guidance seat, speak of the “Signs of the Hour,” and mix religion with politics and personal interests and illusions, which he does not stop nor get tired of repeating! What I realize personally – and the dear readers realize too – is that Marzouki, symbol of the left in the Arab world, opted to pursue a line parallel to his intellectual and ideological orientations for the sake of self-interests with his allies of Ennahda movement, which is a Muslim Brotherhood movement, in sisterly Tunisia.
Although Marzouki himself had sharp views about mixing religion with politics and employing the first for the benefit of the second in a very rude way, as he always considered that religion has historically been the victim of a burglary from politicians, he now exercises robbery on religion and throws it in the furnace of politics, and speaks about the “Signs of the Hour” to attract the support of a certain segment of the public and incite it against the United Arab Emirates, repeating his claims about its interference in Egyptian affairs!
I do not know why Marzouki insists on ignoring the facts and on trying to deny the will of the majority of the Egyptian people that came in the thirtieth of June 2013 to overthrow the rule of his comrades from the Muslim Brotherhood, and why a former president insists on interfering with an internal affair of another Arab state, while he is supposed to recognize the abuse in doing so, and its negative impact both on the relations between the United Arab Emirates and sisterly Tunisia, or between the latter and sisterly Egypt!
Have the Egyptians authorized Moncef Marzouki to speak on their behalf and to repeat allegations about the conditions of governance in this great Arab country? Absolutely not, but I am well aware that Marzouki is fighting a propaganda war by proxy on behalf of the Muslim Brotherhood group leaders fleeing in Turkey and other countries. Those leaders realize that their malicious projects and plots have been exposed, and their faces are no longer accepted by the Arab peoples, so they decided to push “funded” faces to repeat the same myths and superstitions, and to make the same silly demands, despite their certainty that they are of the past, and that talking about them is a kind of absurd and futile childishness.
If the phenomenon of military conflicts and proxy wars have swept the region in the past few years, the phenomenon of proxy media wars also looks a popular trade these days. What was uttered by Marzouki against the United Arab Emirates, is only a propaganda war waged on behalf of his sponsors and allies of the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist group, who realize that the media campaigns they had planned in recent years against the United Arab Emirates have failed and have received no echo from the Arab peoples. These campaigns have not succeeded in achieving the goal of distorting the mental picture of the UAE nor in sticking accusations on it, so their authors resorted to hiding behind names sometimes and banners at other times, thus they sometimes speak through personalities that no longer have a place in their countries or among their people, such as Marzouki and others. And at other times, their mark can be found in tendentious press reports published by newspapers and pens known for having no sense of belonging and for being paid in advance.
I do not say that Marzouki’s intellectual, research and policy trip over his previous years were empty. Indeed, the man is renowned for having dedicated his life to policy and other fields of interest, but like many, who suffered excesses at a later age by the lust for power and lights, the man who spent his life calling for the need to separate religion from politics, surrendered in the first opportunity for an alliance with the Muslim Brotherhood in order to sit on the throne of the Tunisian presidency. It seems he has learned from the period of his alliance with the Muslim Brotherhood that things go according to the whims and desires that wear the dress of religion and formal religiosity, which represents a bright envelope for false goods. Marzouki found that there is no escape from an alliance with the Muslim Brotherhood in order to achieve his political objectives, so he adopted a religious political speech in which he defended Muslim Brotherhood slogans and intellectual traditions, and wrapped his opportunistic position with an apparent frame that claims the importance of accommodating the Islamic movement when it is committed to true democracy away from opportunism!! But this vision that looks open-minded in the surface for some, has, in fact, summed up the rapprochement between Marzouki and the Muslim Brotherhood. This alliance has achieved only the interests of the two parties, who have remained in power for three years and have achieved during this period only little work and a lot of defections to the Tunisian brotherly people.
I feel pity about the hatred Moncef Marzouki has toward the United Arab Emirates, for the only reason that the man would not be able to implement what is required of him in this regard. He lost his way and ventured himself, burning his history by flopping in the corridors of politics allying with organizations and groups he is the first to realize their gravity and devastating effects on security and stability, and he is fully aware of the truth of their authoritarian intentions and objectives. But he ignored all that and did not differentiate the wheat from the chaff, and started moving through newspapers and TV channels, with the only goal to insult the United Arab Emirates and to contest its Arabism and nationalism and support to Arab brothers in their quest for security and stability, and to avoid strife and civil discord scenarios.
I say to Marzuki what I believe he knows well, and I repeat to him that the United Arab Emirates do not spend their money in vain, but they offer it to Arab sister nations, while being aware of the duties of the Arab brotherhood and authenticity, and that these authentic attitudes of the UAE were aimed only at preventing the collapse of a cornerstone in the Arab national security, God forbid, the sisterly Egypt, with all the meanings carried in this catastrophic scenario of dire consequences for the United Arab Emirates and its people and other Arab countries, including sister Tunisia, The creative chaos scenario, which was carried out, unfortunately, by Arab hands working under malignant slogans and ideologies is still valid in Syria, Yemen, Libya, and any nation that believes in Arabism and nationalism had no other choice than standing as an impenetrable bulwark against the chaos.
And I tell him, too, and he is one who is well aware of history, that the positions of the UAE, its leadership and its people, as far as the support of Egypt’s and its people is concerned, is not recent; and trying to discredit these attitudes has to call into question the positions of Arabs’ wise man, the late His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, when he ignored the reality of the young age of his own country at the time, and historically adopted a position in support of the great Egyptian army in the war of liberation and dignity in 1973. Was this heroic stance aimed at plotting against Egypt and its people and its future? Today, Marzouki, is an extension of yesterday and the sons of Zayed know the value of Egypt and its prestige, and their decisions in supporting it are not subject to the whims of groups and organizations, but based on facts and aimed at the destinies of peoples with whom the Emirates consented at sharing a morsel of bread, as was announced openly by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, who absorbed the values and principles of the school of Zayed, may God rest his soul, and his positions in that matter are clear, especially in regard to his faith in the value of Egypt and the inevitability of its stability, and of maintaining and protecting it from all evil.
