Media identity and the UAE story

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President of the United Arab Emirates, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, announced the launch of the national project to create and design a logo that reflects the UAE’s identity.

This important step will allow the development and enhancement of the history of the Emirates development model, which is a regional and international inspiration. As His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said, “It is our story that deserves to be told to the whole world. ”

The United Arab Emirates has always been a success story since its inception. Between the lines of this story, through its stages and aspects, there are lessons that deserve a break.

Since December 2, 1971, when the founding leader Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan succeeded in uniting the efforts of the founding fathers and proclaiming the creation of the State of the Union, to this day, the UAE has had a history of struggle, determination, planning and faith in the principles and values that founded this State, and has been the result of the will of its people.

Going from an empty desert landscape to a dominant position on global competitiveness indicators in more than a dozen development sectors is no coincidence. Rather, it is the product of diligence, careful planning, strategic visions and considerable effort since the creation of this state.

Admittedly, the United Arab Emirates has a great deal of oil wealth. But many countries have oil, gas, mining and natural resources such as agriculture, tourism, industry, fisheries and other resources that can generate huge revenues. Yet their population continues to struggle with poverty, disease, unemployment and poor living conditions for a variety of reasons.

Notwithstanding its importance in development and progress, natural wealth is not the only factor for progress in the Zayed emirates, which aspire to become the world’s number one.

While our Middle East region is no longer mentioned, except in the news of wars, conflicts, assassinations, massacres and crises, the UAE has a role and a global responsibility to spread values of hope, positivity and optimism.

The world must learn how an arid desert could become an oasis of security and safety, train a man to explore space, adopt policies based on artificial intelligence, excellence, creativity, competitiveness, innovation and even be a global leader in this new culture.

The country enjoys an international reputation, strategic weight and prestige that have enabled it to forge a brilliant mental image linked to humanitarian and charitable aid. The country supports millions of people around the world, whether in times of crisis or armed conflict, without distinction of colour, gender or race.

The United Arab Emirates has also become inseparable from values and principles and the call for coexistence, tolerance and human brotherhood. The UAE is now a global model in human brotherhood and coexistence. The country has more than 200 nationalities and religions and cultures that contribute to the progress of cultural and human development.

These people dream of a better future and of being able to reproduce the Emirate model and share it with their communities, peoples and countries.

Because we must have a symbol that represents our values and principles, national marketing institutionalizes our efforts to market, promote and plan for the future with our partners and friends.

The UAE has all the elements of a global model that deserves to be marketable and promoted in a unique way, as a new source of motivation and inspiration for other nations. The United Arab Emirates is the country of the new opportunities of the 21st century, Zayed’s dream and that of tens of millions of young people around the world and in the Arab region

The national brand will be developed by 49 creators, artists, writers and designers from across the country to bring the history of the country to life in all its details.

The identity of the United Arab Emirates is the story of a nation that will be told by its children. Generations will thus be able to see how dreams and aspirations are realized and fly away in space.
