The creation of the future requires innovative ideas and minds loaded with creativity and imagination based on science and knowledge. This is what our wise leadership believes in and so was the UAE founded by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, (may God have mercy on his soul), and those who question today’s dreams and aspirations are referred to the past ambitions, which were more difficult and complex than today’s dreams, and yet they were achieved .
In the past, the leader founded on the sand and painted the dreams of the people of the UAE before the second of December 1971, with limited financial resources at the time, in addition to the most important and basic thing which is the determination of the people and the will of the Union and a nation which believes in him as the leader of the process of renaissance, which was successful and turned out to be a model country in the firm construction on the political and constitutional levels, as well as the over all development.
As we get inspiration from the memory of the lesson of foundation in the Year of Zayed, we should understand our wise leadership’s thinking and the strategic anticipation of the future. So when Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, says he is looking for leaders leading change and shaping the future, describing their ambition as being as high as the sky, this actually reinforces the will of a new generation of young people seeking a seat to participate in building the future.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum used the word “look for” to talk about the efforts of the wise leadership in the search for leaders of the future within the middle leadership, to make sure the research process is rigorous and that there are efforts at several levels to discover the possessors of leadership and management skills to lead the State projects and plans and future initiatives, as a real bet on the capabilities of the UAE youth and the energies of their citizens who are able to realize the dreams and aspirations of their people in building the future.
Our wise leadership wants leaders who do not know the impossible. This type of youth is the seed of Zayed Elkheir, may God rest his soul. He was the conqueror of the impossible when he turned the desert of the barren Emirates into green cities that adopt the highest standards of civilization and urbanization in the world. He built a unique school of leadership which believes that there is no limit to aspiration and that the sky is the roof of the aspirations of the people of the UAE, who aspire for the first rank only.
It may be coincidental that this talk coincides with two very important events in the UAE: the UAE passport is ranked ninth in the world index of the strength of the travel document and allows the holder to enter 157 countries without a visa in advance, and the second is the UAE is ranked as the first among the Arab countries and the 34th in the world in The United Nations Human Development Report (HDR) where it advanced by eight ranks ahead of last year.
These two events reflect the tremendous development that is taking place at a rapid pace in the UAE. In order to continue this development, it must be nourished by a renewed thought, a relentless determination and the will of the people who believe in their ambition in spreading the culture of creativity, excellence and innovation throughout our national institutions. This check up seems to be the basic guarantee for the continuation of the competitive race in order to achieve the vision of the UAE 2021 and the UAE 2071.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, says Leadership is thought and inteligence, patience and practice, the word impossible is not in our dictionary in the UAE, . Continue and persevere to seek the first position, and I want you to be number one, we are looking for challenges to overcome, “we look for challenges to excel at. This is the benchmark of leadership performance in the UAE, and this is the “thermometer” of our vision for the future. The challenges increase our determination and the successes drive our ambitions for more excellence. These are the characteristics of the UAE school of leadership, the school of Zayed in leadership and management with all its lessons and experiences, arts and wisdom embodied by the UAE: the state with all its past and present and ambition for the future.
