I recently published a new book about His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy of the Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and I am happy I did. The book I finished in the last quarter of last year sheds light on the role of a leader in fortifying the national security of the UAE and protecting Arab national security at a difficult historical stage in contemporary history.
I had the idea of writing this book since 2012. In the midst of turbulences in Gulf and the Arab regions as they became scenes to strife and unrest and where a dark vision of the future is widespread among Arabs, some Arab leaders were successful in holding control of the region and securing their countries. At the forefront of these leaders is His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who is a man of strategic positions and strong decision-making abilities.
Writing a book about the impact and influence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the current historical situation needs a dedicated team from a research centre with financial and human resources. Every great endeavour needs strong will. The gap in research can be filled by the intensive work and determination. I am aware of the limitations of research about this very important concern in our country and for our coming generations, which have the right to know about such matters. It is an imperative national duty that we must not leave any matters of study to be produced by the electronic armies of abusers, plotters and haters on social media and other channels of mass communication.
The idea of any book, whether about a specific topic or positions and policies, subjectively pours from the author mind. The topic is addressed by the author from his particular perspective. My admiration and appreciation for the policies and positions of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was my main motive towards the systematic, well-documented, political analytical research that I dedicated to him, the Emirates and the Arab and Islamic nation at large.
The book is not a biography about His Highness because he and his national and historical positions are well-known. The book documents positions and policies amid the flow of information and news in the revolutionary era for information.
In the book I analyze the strategic interpretations of policies in order to draw an overall strategic vision and identify the deep strategic goals hehind it.
Fakhr al-Arab or “The Pride of Arabs: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Leader and the Human” is about patriotic pride. This contribution to the research field is the first step to make a comprehensive list of the high-level policies and positions taken by His Highness to serve the security, safety and stability of millions of people in our region and the world, and to protect them from the 21st century Barbarians like Daesh, the Muslim Brotherhood, Al-Qaeda who emerged in our region through the funding and support they received from malevolent countries and leaders intervening in the Middle East.
